Welcome to NokshiWorld

Come explore the world of Nokshi Katha, a fabric art born of the Bengali culture, soon making its way across the world to finer homes and establishments everywhere!

NokshiWorld is an based in Bangladesh consisting of village women skilled in the traditional techniques used to create these quilted and embroidered masterpieces. We use all natural and local resources to produce quality custom textiles to express your unique style, while at the same time making a positive change in an impoverished area of our world.

Nokshi Katha began as resourceful women layered old sari, lungi, or dhoti, and spent their rare leisure time embellishing the quilt with beautiful embroidery. The village women would gather in courtyards, spending hours working the intricate designs, sometimes taking years to finish one quilt. What started as a utilitarian object for the bed soon found its way throughout the home in extraordinarily beautiful tapestries, wall hangings, and even worn as wraps worn by these creative ladies.

Today, NokshiWorld provides custom, intricate designs, hand stitched in the same villages that have been creating these masterpieces for generations. We have many traditional patterns to choose from, or work with our skilled craftsmen to create an original design to suit your needs. Picture your master suite transformed with bedding, draperies, and wall hangings all hand embroidered with artwork you created! Opening an elegant restaurant? What could be more exquisite than table linens with delicate stitch work of traditional flavor! Specialty boutiques should reserve a window for wraps and bags with our needle work, then hire more cashiers to handle the crowd they will bring in! NokshiWorld will work with you to produce the pieces that you desire to fill your fashion and decorating needs.
